Of course, there is more to it than what it seems. In fact, mosquitoes have been around for millions of years, some dated from the Jurassic age. As small as around 2 mm (0.1 inch) and weighting around 5 mg, mosquitoes are complex cold-blooded insect capable of preying on humans.

How are mosquitoes attracted to humans? 

To understand how PARA'KITO® portable diffusers work, we must start by explaining how mosquitoes are drawn to human breath and skin.

1. Using their antennas, mosquitoes can detect carbon dioxide in human breath from distances of up to 100 feet.
2. Using their eyes (hundreds of small lenses called ommatidia), mosquitoes can see in black and white and detect movements from a distance of approximately 3 feet away.

How PARA'KITO® effectively reduces your mosquito-appeal?

PARA'KITO® refill pellets are infused with a blend of 7 natural essential oils especially developed to mask human smell. The DiffuControl-System technology regulates the volatility of these natural essential oils, enabling their sustained diffusion 24 hours a day, up to 15 consecutive days per pellet.

Each pellet can be inserted into all our wearable accessories (Wristbands, Kids Bands, Sport Bands, Clips and Sandals). The constant diffusion of natural active ingredients around you reduces the risk of being spotted and bitten by mosquitoes.

A masking effect proven by an independent laboratory

There are no standardized evaluation protocols for spatial diffusion products at the European level. To evaluate the effectiveness of our products, we follow a specific protocol developed by an Italian laboratory specialized in Aedes Albopictus (also known as the tiger mosquito), in association with the University of Padua.

The volunteer places an arm at the entrance of each tube and an active air flow brings the attractive body odors to the mosquitoes inside the cage: one arm without a wearable diffuser (control) and one arm with PARA'KITO® Mosquito Repellent Wristband.
